    Overview:

     

    An experienced project manager interested in commercial spaceflight, with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery of spaceflight hardware.

     

    Experience must include establishing and managing requirements, schedules, and budgets, plus oversight and management of engineering, design, manufacturing, test, and delivery, including required documentation.

     

     Position also includes working with potential customers to craft design and operational solutions that meet their technical and budget needs, and assisting with relevant proposals and other business development activities.

    Responsibilities

    Project planning

    • Project execution per agreed-to plan
    • Customer relations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering
    • At least two years recent space industry experience that includes developing spaceflight equipment
    • At least five years of project management experience with turnkey, high-specification product development projects
    • Skilled user of standard project management tools and techniques, including setting up and managing budgets, schedules, and work plans
    • Working knowledge of current aerospace quality standards
    • Proven ability to collaborate with customers and potential customers to develop technical, cost, and schedule solutions that meet their needs
    • Proven ability to work with project teams to achieve planned results
    • Positive attitude, comfortable with a dynamic environment

     

    Preferred:

    • Background or expertise in materials science, materials engineering, or metallurgy
    • Experience writing proposals and white papers and/or studies
    • Expert writing and verbal skills
    • Experience with commercial industry, especially oil and gas or commercial space
    • Experience understanding and negotiating contracts and other agreement
