    Job Title:  IRES - Big Data Systems Back-End-Developer (AS0003WX)

    The Big Data Systems Engineer will work on the IRES Program supporting the Missile Defense Agency.  The work location can be at Schriever AFB, Colorado, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, or Ft Belvoir, Virginia. The candidate will perform all phases of system engineering including requirements analysis, application design, and code development and testing.  


    • Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
    • Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries  
    • Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions
    • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases
    • Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
    • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
    • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
    • Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse skills
    • Bring strong communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills plus creativity, and problem solving skills to a challenging environment
    • This is a complex, matrixed environment that requires you to develop innovative systems and solutions within a demanding technology environment while always focused on meeting customer needs.

    • High School  Diploma and 16 years general experience or an Associate’s degree and 14 years general experience or Bachelor’s degree and 12 years general experience or Master’s degree and 10 years general experience
    • Requires 8 years directly related experience and 5 years in management or leadership roles.  Related experience must be in one or more of the following: Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Structured Databases (Oracle  MySQL and Microsoft SQL) Big Data Platforms (Hadoop, ElasticStack Infrastructure), Enterprise Server Hardware, VMware, Cisco IOS Model Development, PowerShell, Bash  scripting,  the Software development lifecycle (SDLC)  
    • Candidate must possess a CompTIA Security+ with CE or higher or able to obtain certification within 30 days
    • Must be a US citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance



    • Experience developing processes and training and cloud based system architectures and related tool
    • Experience in large development initiatives, developing high volume database applications, data warehousing, complex shell scripting, Agile methodology and publicor private cloud experience
    • Experience with Cloudera, Kafka, Logstash, Redhat, SQL, JSON,  C++, Python,  R, C#, Ruby, Agile Methodologies, Adobe Certified Expert (ACE).
