    The Alpha Space Customer Engagement Engineer must be a creative engineer able to work both independently and collaboratively with the rest of the Alpha Space team and customers.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Understand potential customer technical needs and craft design and operational solutions that meet their budget
    • Write studies, white papers, and responses to requests for information
    • Recognize and help create new business opportunities
    • Estimate, price, and/or write Alpha Space quotes
    • Work with the Business Development function to craft and implement marketing and messaging; present in public forums and private meetings
    • Assist with and/or lead proposals
    • Must be able to creatively apply and extrapolate Alpha Space’s capabilities into new areas
    • Assist with developing and implementing capture plans and strategies
    • Make customer calls and visits, and close sales
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
    • At least five years industry experience
    • At least two years successful technical sales experience or support
    • At least two years aerospace industry experience
    • Experience writing proposals and white papers and/or studies
    • Know to read and respond to an RFI, RFP, etc.
    • Demonstrated, expert writing skills
    • Demonstrated, expert verbal skills
    • Proven ability to collaborate with potential customers to develop technical and cost solutions that meet the customer’s needs
    • Creative mind able to extrapolate what Alpha Space does to what Alpha Space could do
    • Positive attitude
    • Comfortable with, and experienced in, working with senior executives

     

    DESIRED:

    • Experience in the commercial space industry and/or human spaceflight industry
    • Experience with creating the strategy for, developing, and negotiating teaming and other agreements
    • Experience with developing and managing spaceflight equipment
    • Commercial experience
    • Marketing experience
    • Material or biological science background
